Joining Freshman Academy - Summer 2009

Freshman Academy is an open enrollment program for first-year students at BYU during fall and winter semesters, and summer term. This means that students who complete our application and are accepted to BYU are qualified to participate. Although Freshman Academy offers a wide range of learning communities, class availability changes each semester as does the number of students participating.

In order to join Freshman Academy, you must complete the following steps:

  1. Submit an application (click here) to Freshman Academy for the semester in which you would like to participate.
  2. Review the learning community options (click here) available for the semester in which you want to participate.
If you would like to learn more about how learning communities work, please read our Understanding Learning Communities page.
  3. Once your application has been received, you must complete the Freshman Academy registration process (click here) for your participating semester to be enrolled in a Freshman Academy learning community.
