Freshman Academy

Fall semester is in full swing, and Freshman Academy students are getting involved in their communities through lunches with faculty, study groups, and co-curricular activities. For example, the Life Sciences community recently held an ice cream social. The students and their professors, Dr. Wood and Dr. Harris, met outside the Maeser building to make ice cream using liquid nitrogen. During this activity, students applied concepts they had been learning in Chemistry 105 while interacting with some of their professors and classmates. Jason Hadley, a peer mentor with the group commented on how beneficial it was for students to have more opportunities to meet with faculty. The students and peer mentors look forward to additional opportunities to meet with professors throughout the semester.
