As a member of a Freshman Academy learning community, you have some important responsibilities to yourself and to others in the community. These responsibilities include
Engaging fully in the dynamics of your classes through regular attendance, taking part in discussions, and completing your assignments on time
Participating in learning community events and activities outside of class to build connections with other students and to engage fully in the life of the university
Living the BYU Honor and Dress Codes
Working with other students to establish and maintain community standards in the classroom and residence halls
Helping with ongoing program assessment to make future communities more successful
Building your character and growing spiritually through service learning projects, church participation, and maturely meeting the challenges and frustrations of university life
Being involved in Freshman Academy also means you commit to:
Building strong relationships with other students and faculty in your learning community
Taking responsibility for your learning in each of your courses this semester
Staying enrolled in all the courses in the learning community you selected. This means that you cannot drop ANY of the classes in your learning community without dropping them all, which may consequently result in the loss of your housing selection if you are living on-campus.
